Defumidifier is a passive device used to remove water from the air conditioning systems to send the conditioned air to Aircraft cabin and cockpit. This unit is mounted inside the cabin supply line downstream of the turbine outlet to remove the free water from cabin supply air. Dehumidifier plays an important role in improving air quality and maintaining thermal comfort as well as to maintain the safe operation of Aircraft.
The interior of the water separator is coated with super hydrophobic coating Polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE/PFA. PTFE/PFA are non-stick, fluropolymer, high temp coatings which have a low coefficient of friction as well as good chemical resistance which abrasion resistance and increase the dehumidifier efficiency.
